Councillor Pádraig McEvoy
Motion
That the council engage with the Safe Routes to School programme coordinators to identify opportunities to complete the Outline Delivery Plan for Scoil Bhríde Primary School and Scoil Phádraig Primary School, Clane, as a step towards developing a pedestrian and cycle route between the L1023 Ballinagappa Road and R407 Prosperous Road, Clane.

The Sustainable Transport Section has recently met with An Taisce at the schools on Prosperous Road, Clane, to prepare the Delivery Plan for the Safe Routes to School proposal for the location. As part of this process, we are examining the possibility of progressing an Active Travel Permeability link between the R403 Prosperous Road and the L1023 Ballinagappa Road.

Pedestrian and Cycle Route between L1023 Ballinagappa Road and R407
The members considered the following motion in the name of Councillor McEvoy.
The motion was proposed by Councillor McEvoy and seconded by Councillor Farrelly.
A report was received from the Sustainable Transport and Traffic Management Team informing the members the Sustainable Transport Section has met recently with An Taisce at the schools on Prosperous Road, Clane, to prepare the Delivery Plan for the Safe Routes to School proposal for the location, and as part of this process, are examining the possibility of progressing an Active Travel Permeability link between the R403 Prosperous road and the L1023 Ballinagappa Road.
Councillor McEvoy appreciated the update on funding and that was the most topical issue related to Clane Town Centre First.
Resolved on the proposal of Councillor McEvoy seconded by Councillor Farrelly and agreed by the members that the report be noted.
